Ian’s work as a composer includes: Ishq (Sadler's Wells Theatre, London), Her Aching Heart (Hope Theatre), Trash (Belgium), Scales of the Unexpected & Big Bruvva (Edinburgh Festival), Psyched (Workshop), Diary of a Chav (Tristan Bates Theatre), Arabian Nights (New Diorama Theatre), On Our Street (King’s Head Theatre/Promenade), Defining Johnson (Dr Johnson's House/Promenade), Broadsheet Ballads, Twists and Turns, Broke (Bridewell Theatre). Ian held the role of resident Composer and Musical Director at St Bride Foundation’s Youth Theatre Programme for 5 years and has also written original music and songs for several short films, plays and recordings including Volunteerology (Edinburgh Festival), A Scent of Flowers (Brockley Jack Theatre), ‘Dentity Crisis (The King's Head),  The Actor's Nightmare and All In The Timing (Bridewell Theatre).


Musical Director credits include: Ragtime (Act Two at Levine, Arena Stage, Washington DC), Spring Awakening (Chelsea Theatre), Violet (Young Vic Workshop), A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, Made In Dagenham, Sister Act, Fame (Avondale Theatre), Big Bruvva (Edinburgh Festival), Children of Eden, The Wiz, Broke, Once On This Island, Twists and Turns (Bridewell Theatre), Forever Plaid, Starting Here Starting Now & Working (Upstairs at the Gatehouse) and Pippin (Kings Head & Arts Depot). He has also Musically Directed graduate showcases in the West End at The Playhouse and The Criterion Theatres.

His songs have been performed at in the West End, London Fringe and Off-Broadway and he composes, arranges and performs with the Musical Comedy Act Scales Of The Unexpected.
